The Garan Family

The Garan household is in full school mode. Michael and I started 2 weeks ago and Daniel started another semester of graduate school yesterday. My schooling is self-paced and I'd like to finish as soon as possible. I study formally at least 2 hours a day and then any spare time I get I hit the books instead of reading or watching tv. So, while this has been fun, I don't think I am going to be posting very often any more. And I'm not even sure if any body is reading it. So as a farewell here are some recent pictures of the kids.

Take Care and God Bless,

Yesterday was Michael's first day of pre-school!

We went to open house last Monday and met his teacher. While there she mentioned the other 3-year old class that is 3 days a week. To which I said, "What? There is a 3-day, 3-year old class?" Well, apparently it is an experimental class that they haven't advertised. So, Friday I called knowing there wasn't an opening, but thinking I'd ask just for kicks and giggles. Well, you can imagine my surprise when the registration director said there was 1 opening available, and they wanted to fill it with a boy that was an older 3 just like Michael. He got in! He is in an all boy class besides, which is great because he was the only boy in his pre-school class last year. It's quite funny, I used to say I'd never put my children into pre-school because they are only baby's once and when they start kindergarten they will be in school for like 20 years, so why rush it. But he gets so bored at home and has so much fun in school. And I know 3 days is a lot, but since I'm starting school in less than a week it is the best thing. It's 150x better then day care. So after waiting for 2 years for Michael to get in to this really good school 2 minutes from my house, I am happy to announce he had a fantastic first day of school! He made me a picture frame made from painted popsickle sticks, which he painted, and foam sports ball stickers. And it had an adorable picture of him inside. And he cut paper with siccors, he favorite thing to do, and glued it on another paper. He had P.E., they played the face game and also had music class, he couldn't remember what they did there. LOL I'm so excited for him.

Sarah cried when we left and the whole way home. She wanted to stay and play. It made me rethink whether or not she would be able to handle being in a 2 year old class, which she has been on the waiting list for since she was an infant. I think she could. It is only 2 days a week from 9-12 or 9-2. I really think she might be able to do the 3 hour one. Well, she has to be really close to the top of the list maybe she'll make it in some time this year if some kids leave the program. On a different note, Sarah is potty trained! She isn't even 2 yeat and she has potty trained herself! Yes, you heard me. I don't even remind her to go. I'll see you coming out of the bathroom all done. She goes when she needs to and wipes herself clean! She can climb onto the toilet, she faces backwards, go pee-pee and poo-poo and then clean herself, flush, and pull her close back on. Can you believe it! I didn't do a thing to help her. Go figure! I don't know why I'm surprised, she rolled over at 1-1/2, crawled at 4-5 mos. and walked at 8-1/2 months. She also started feeding herself with a fork and spoon at a year old. My baby is becoming a big girl!

Well, I guess I better go get ready for the tile men to get here. They are putting down the grout on the tile today. I'm so happy are finally getting tile! Our kitchen has needed a new floor for years now, the linoleum the builders put in was horrible!

Be safe and God Bless,

Dawn
